Extensive contact with consumers, as well as recognition of the high quality of the company’s products, created the need for new innovative products of higher quality, safety and nutritional value .

Since 2004, the company has gradually begun to focus on the development of Biofunctional products. Thus, it establishes HHBT “Hellenic Hepirus BioTechnology R&D” , with distinguished biologists in the industry, a Biotechnology Research & Development company , intensifying research on the biofunctionality of its products. In February 2011, it acquires its second patent, which concerns a solution of Kozani Saffron with Extra Virgin Olive Oil , in such a way as not only to multiply the well-known properties of olive oil, but also to add, to the final mixture, many of the properties of “medicinal” Saffron . Thus, it creates the new patented series “Pitenis Premium Quality” consisting of 7 Salads, 3 Dressings and a Biofunctional Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Saffron .

Finally, the addition of Extra Virgin Olive Oil to almost all of its self-service products directly differentiates them from the competition, making them particularly attractive to the modern consumer, not only in Greece but also abroad.

Our company, using two Greek PDO products , the multi-awarded Excellent.

Virgin Olive Oil of Sitia and the extract of Saffron of Kozani , managed, with the excellent team of Biologists of the R&D department it has, to invent and Patent Internationally a solution which more than doubles the antioxidant properties of Olive Oil. Thus, using the high nutritional value solution, the New PREMIUM Pitenis Product Line was ‘born’ , consisting of seven wonderful salads and three dressings.


KROCOS (Greek Saffron PDO Kozani)

There are many traditionally accepted properties of Kozani Crocus (Saffron), such as aphrodisiac, antiseptic of the oral cavity, antispasmodic and digestive. It contributes to the well-being and good health of the body. It exerts antioxidant and antithrombotic action and protects against free radicals. 

Recent studies converge towards the conclusion that they improve blood circulation as well as brain function, especially memory.
